The Sandbox’s 2nd Annual Kid’s Fair

Visit The Sandbox for the fun and FREE event to meet local businesses and organizations that are involved or associated with children of all ages and their families.  There will be tons on information, along with prizes and giveaways. 

Children will have the opportunity to  check out a fire truck, play in the “Balloon Typhoon”, enjoy face painting, arts & crafts and earn free Sandbox passes just by visiting the different booths.    There will also be a “Kids Tag Sale” area with gently used clothing and merchandise for sale.

“America Sings”with the Hilton Head Choral Society

Join the Hilton Head Choral Society in their sesaon finale and tribute to America!!!

This Memorial Day music festival is held at two location – May 30th at the First Presbyterian Church and then again May 31st at the Holy Family catholic Church. Song choices range from 19th century hymns to colonial folk songs and patriotic anthems.

14th Annual Kiwanis Rib Burnoff

Come join the festivities as Honey Horn Plantation comes to life with the wonderful smells of slow cooked ribs and pulled pork. Each year, the Kiwanis Club of Hilton Head sponsors their Rib Burnoff – an event where local restaurants and amateur cooks compete for trophy’s and a year’s worth of bragging rights as the best.

Hundreds of people will turn out to enjoy the food, music and festivities. There are inflatable castles and slides in a children’s area, and the Fire Department and Sheriff’s Department will have booths and equipment on display.

Tickets can be purchsed for $15 (children under 12 are admitted free) from any Kiwanis member, or at The Coastal Discovery Museum.

Many of our guests have come to Hilton Head Island year after year, and are familiar with what is included in the home or villa they have selected to rent. We have put together this list of the 5 most frequently asked questions for new visitors to Hilton Head, or for those new to vacation rentals in general. Please read through, and let us know if we can provide additional information to make your stay a memorable one.

5. Is there a washer and dryer in the home/villa? Yes – All of our homes and villas are equipped with their own washer and dryer. We also provide our guests with a single load box of laundry detergent.

4. Are there things for the beach? No – we do not provide any thing for the beach. There are number of companies on the Island that will rent you chairs, umbrellas, toys and even towels for the beach. They will even have them at your home and villa before you arrive so you can “hit the beach” right away!!! These items may also be purchased inexpensively at one of our local stores.

3. Are the Linens Included? Yes – when you arrive you will find that all of the beds have been made, and are ready to sleep in. If your property has a sleeper sofa, the linens can be found in the Master bedroom closet. There will be extra pillows, and blankets in the bedroom closet, as well. Each guest will also receive 2 bath towels, a hand towel and a washcloth.

2. Is there wireless Internet access? Yes – all of our properties have FREE wireless Internet. Any access codes can be found in your home or villa.

The 8th Annual ART Market

The Art Market is a juried fine art and craft show held annually at the Historic Honey Horn Plantation. The Coastal Discovery Museum will jury artists in media that includes: clay, wood, fibers, metals, glass, jewelry, watercolors, oil, mixed media and photography. All work will be on display and for sale.

Each year artists from 13 states share the spotlight during this weekend-long event as they compete for prizes totaling $5,000. The public is invited to attend Saturday and Sunday, when the art will be on sale, and there will be demonstrations in glass, pine needle basketry, clay and much more. Food and beverages will also be served.

3rd Annual Hilton Head Seafood Festival

Come enjoy the fabulous seafood offerings of 12 Hilton Head Island restaurants at the 3rd annual Seafood Festival.  Held in Shelter Cove Community Park. Besides the fabulous food there is entertainment by The Headliners, a silent auction, an “Iron Chef” competition, crab races, Kid’s Zone and a Farmer’s market.

Symphony Under the Stars: Movie Spectacular – Let’s Go to the Movies!!

“Symphony Under the Stars” provides a casual outdoor concert experience where people can enjoy a picnic dinner followed by an evening of music and programming performed by the Hilton Head Symphony Orchestra.

Guests often take this opportunity to use concert themes to dress up, decorate their “tables” and inspire picnic menus. Food can be packed by attendees, or you can call a local caterer. The League of the Hilton Head Symphony Orchestra will be selling wine, beer, soft drinks and water. This event is held at Honey Horn Plantation, and all proceeds go to support orchestra youth and outreach programs.
