Food tastings from top local restaurants will be paired with well-known Lowcountry authors and topped with an exciting “The Heat Is On” chefs’ competition at Literacy Volunteers of the Lowcountry’s 6th Annual Cooks & Books, on Sunday, February 12, 2012 from 11:30 to 3:00 at The Westin Hilton Head Island Resort & Spa. Admission $20 per person. The ticket includes unlimited tastings, access to the Lowcountry authors, the chefs’ competition, “The Heat Is ON” and the opportunity to vote for a favorite tasting in “The Peoples’ Choice.”

 The Hilton Head International Piano competition is to encourage and support excellence in the performance of classical piano music by showcasing the talents of young pianists on the threshold of their careers in a competition judged by internationally acclaimed judges.

Join the Hilton Head Symphony Orchestra and the Symphony Chorus in a Holiday Celebration on Monday, December 5th at 8:00 p.m..  Mozart’s Sleighride, the Hallelujah Chorus and selections from The Nutcracker are among the many highlights.
