If you were any closer to the beach, you'd get your feet wet! This lovely condo offers sweeping ocean views, a balcony just off the living room and master suite, and all the perks of a family resort. 

Captain's Walk 411 sleeps 8 people very comfortably in 2 bedrooms plus a queen-sized sleeper sofa in the living room. It is located in an elevator building sitting right on the shores of the beach, part of the beautiful Palmetto Dunes Plantation. Pristine sands, unspoiled marshland, wild palms -- all of these await you here, plus wildlife from pelicans to the occasional pod of dolphins! 

The first place you'll fall in love with is the balcony. Covered, spacious, and boasting a world-class view, it is certain to become your go-to spot any time of day or night. With a table and chairs arranged for al fresco dining, journaling (your free WiFi works out here, too!), or game playing, it's irresistible! You can watch the kids race down the private boardwalk to the beach from this balcony, spot exotic birds roosting in the wild palm trees, and catch the sunrise over the sparkling waves. It's your little piece of heaven, and it will probably be the thing you remember most about this Hilton Head vacation. 

When you come indoors through the sliding-glass doors to the living room, the view comes right with you. Not only do you have these sliders, but one whole wall of the living room is a bank of high, wide windows that frame the coastline perfectly! You'll never forget you're on one of the most beautiful beaches in the world, with gentle waves, sugary sands, and balmy breezes. 

After a busy day on the island, your group will be ready to collapse in the living room for some much-needed downtime. The sofa, loveseat, and easy chair surrounding the flat-screen TV (with DVD player and cable package) invite napping, and the kitchen and dining areas are close at hand for snacks and drinks, with the perfect open floor plan. The dining table even makes a perfect place to set up laptops and tablets, a jigsaw puzzle, or the Settlers of Catan board. Let's face it -- you're going to eat all your meals out on the balcony anyway! Spread out and get comfortable indoors! 

The kitchen at Captain's Walk 411 makes you feel right at home. This isn't a generic "rental property" kitchen: it's stocked for a crowd of chefs and hungry people! So if you want to prepare a homemade feast one day, you'll find everything from cookware to dishes, utensils to chef's gadgets, waiting for you here. (Just add groceries!) And on the days when you just need to get the gang fed, watered, and out of the house, tabletop appliances stand ready to make that easier too, from the microwave and coffeemaker to the toaster and blender. 

Just beyond the kitchen are the washer and dryer, ready for your sandy beach towels and wet swimsuits. Pack light on this trip; you can always have clean clothes at Captain's Walk 411, and it will give you an excuse to pick up a souvenir shirt and hat! Your bed and bath linens and 4 beach towels are provided here, and it's a treat to be able to launder them as often as you please. 

As much as you enjoy the spacious, well-appointed common areas at Captain's Walk 411, you'll really love the bedrooms. The master suite is the jewel in the crown, with its separate balcony access, king-sized bed, flat-screen TV, plush reading chair, and very ample storage space. The en-suite bath features his-and-her vanities and a roomy walk-in shower. No matter how much fun you're having on the beach, the marshes, or in town, you will look forward to returning to this sanctuary every night! 

The second bedroom is ideal for a couple and a child, grandparents, or all the kids. It contains two queen-sized beds, a  TV, and easy access to the second bathroom, with its combination shower and tub. There's enough floor space here for the kids to leave out toys and projects, and the room can be darkened effectively for afternoon naps.

Captain's Walk 411 is part of a family-friendly resort featuring two outdoor swimming pools (a multi-use pool and a wading pool for the littlest travelers), a cabana, a covered picnic area, outdoor grills, an outdoor shower, and a gated private walkway to the beach. The entire community is gated as well, and the beach is wonderfully uncrowded -- plenty of space to fly a kite, build a sandcastle, and toss a frisbee! We enjoyed our stay here and appreciated the location relative to the beach access. The condo itself was very clean, comfortable and spacious, even with 2 small children running around. It was equipped with everything we needed and more. We would definitely choose to stay here again!
