The Best Ways to Celebrate Christmas on Hilton Head Island
Walkthrough a Christmas Light Show
Harbour Town is a charming island area and is best known for the iconic red and white lighthouse. Explore this part of the Sea Pines community while admiring the structure and holiday decor! During Christmas, Harbour Town hosts an annual tree lighting that usually takes place in November, the day after Thanksgiving. Witness the towering Christmas Tree in Harbour Town light up for the first time! Then, explore the other festive decorations.
Outside of Harbour Town, Shelter Cove has its own light show you can visit all December! Walk down the boardwalk to witness boats and trees covered in soft holiday lights while shopping at one of many of the Shelter Cove stores!
Shop for One-of-a-Kind Hilton Head Island Gifts
As you explore the island, you'll find many Christmas stores perfect for additional festive decorations or unique gifts. Take home a Hilton Head-themed ornament from Christmas on the Harbour, or head to the yacht club to explore the many gifts and trinkets in the Harbour Town Christmas Store. Celebrate at the Winter Wonderland Festival
The Winter Wonderland Festival is one of our favorite family-friendly celebrations! You'll find all the festivities at the Shelter Cove Community Park. Kids can enjoy a children's parade, a golden candy-cane hunt, games, and visits with Santa Claus.
And, there's always plenty of food and drinks to go around! Besides local food and beverage vendors, you'll also find entertainment and activities, like rocking climbing and a trampoline bungee. Admission is free, and there is only a small fee to enjoy the food, rock climbing, and other fun activities.
Attend a Themed Performance
If you enjoy supporting the arts, attend a holiday performance while visiting Hilton Head! The Hilton Head Choral Society performs a ticketed holiday special at First Presbyterian Church each year. If you want to attend an iconic play, visit the Arts Center of the Carolinas for their annual performance of holiday classics like Elf!
